While working closely with our clients and our staff of Process Engineers, the Mechanical Engineering Department provides a conversion from concept to operational reality through the design and specification of production equipment that places safety, capital optimization and reliability above all else. We pride ourselves on understanding the level of detail required to transition a design from concept to construction whether it be a multi-million dollar 'grass roots' facility or just a few process system tie-ins. Our piping and mechanical team has the tools needed to perform accurate detailed designs in the most efficient manner possible for both piping system layouts and isometrics, equipment arrangements and stack-ups. The design of piping systems is a critical function that has taken our staff years to perfect. Our stress analysis and vessel design engineers have experience with all manner of high pressure liquid and vapor systems, exotic materials of construction and hazardous, proprietary and complex products. At Orion, we have designed over $200 million of material handling systems, including over 6 different drying systems, 5 different centrifuges, 8 different filters, 15 dust collection and pneumatic transfer systems, 3 classification and sizing systems, 3 extrusion systems, and numerous packaging systems.
